Professional translator Karen Stokes considers the professional status of translators as perceived by practitioners, their clients and the public. Karen's lecture will draw on research and practical experience to examine the role and responsibilities of practitioners in professionalising the profession and the steps their professional bodies can take to improve translator status.
(The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.)
